Project purpose

The annual production and delivery of national educational material in braille, modified large print and enlarged print, and modified material for pupils with hearing impairment.

| Project scope |
As a sub-contractor to the main contractor, Pia is the braille production house for this major high-profile project and, until 2006, also acted as the project management office for the project. The national educational material is modified, originated and produced in each of the alternative formats and delivered to schools according to the same schedule as the standard versions of the educational material. Pia's braille producers originate the material according to the instructions of appropriately qualified modifiers and liaise with both modifiers and academic agencies to produce high-quality materials in the quantities required. Pia also hosts a helpline for schools and maintains databases containing all the information required to complete the project successfully.
