Pia’s Olympic Walkathon: Beijing to London

In keeping with the Olympic spirit and as part of our bid to secure Gold (the highest level of Small Workplace Health Award!), Pia is using people power to travel from Beijing to London without ever leaving the country!

We are recording the distance that Pia staff walk, cycle and swim, either in the performance of their job, or recreationally, and plotting the progress on a map displayed on the wall of the main office here at Pia Towers.

We started in Beijing on 18 April and plan to arrive in London before the 2012 Olympics. The route has been divided up into various legs beginning and ending in different countries.  When we reach each milestone, we're celebrating with a communal lunch with food from that country as the theme.

After leaving Beijing on 18 April, we arrived in Xian on 12 May, Dhaka on 20 July and Delhi on 20 November. Just 650 miles  to go before we get to Cairo! Hopefully, there'll be a camel or two there to have a lift from…

How far we've come: 5004 miles in 287 days.

How far to go: 2884 miles in 179 days.

That's just over 16 miles a day, so let us know if you'd like to donate a mile or two!
