Braille
Pia has over 20 years’ experience in high quality braille transcription. Braille is produced in Contracted (Grade 2) or Uncontracted (Grade 1) British and Welsh braille and using technical codes, such as mathematics and science. We have the capability and the capacity to deliver professionally presented braille translation and transcription to very tight deadlines.
Intelligent re-design and modificationCreating a braille transcription of a print document is not as simple as selecting ‘braille’ in the braille translation software. In order to ensure the quality and accessibility of the finished braille documents, Pia's operators edit the content and layout to ensure it meets the current braille rules. Where an issue is identified, we present you not just with the problem, but also with one or more appropriate solutions, ensuring that the best possible braille document is supplied to your customer.
Professional and accessible presentationTo create the right impression, we finish braille documents with full colour front and back covers matching the corporate image of the original print document. Covers contain print and braille labels and the document is bound with wire comb, allowing the best possible flexibility for use by braille users while maintaining the professional presentation of the document.
Having a document produced in an accessible format doesn’t mean that you have to compromise on your brand identity. We’d be delighted to send you a sample pack to show how we can help you maintain your standards when communicating with blind and partially sighted customers.
