Clear & engaging audio solutions

Audio is a powerful and inclusive format that makes information accessible to people with low vision, as well as those who prefer auditory learning or face challenges with reading printed text. By delivering content through sound, audio formats offer a flexible and engaging way to connect with a wider audience—whether for essential information, educational materials, or promotional content.

Our audio services include:

Natural-sounding text-to-speech:

Using advanced synthetic voices, we create audio that is smooth, intelligible, and pleasant to listen to. Our TTS technology is ideal for large volumes of content or when quick turnaround is needed, without compromising on clarity or quality.

Human voice recordings:

For a more personal and expressive touch, our in-house recording studios allow Pia staff to record, edit, and produce audio content using real voices. This option is perfect for materials where tone, emotion, or brand identity are key, such as welcome messages, customer communications, or storytelling.

Welsh language audio:

We are proud to offer audio production in both English and Welsh, supporting bilingual communication and ensuring accessibility for Welsh-speaking audiences. Whether you need a single message or a full suite of materials, we can deliver high-quality audio in your preferred language.

Customisable formats:

Audio can be delivered in a variety of file types and formats, suitable for websites, mobile apps, phone systems, or physical media such as CDs and USB drives.

Frequently asked questions

How are diagrams and images created for audio files?

If you are familiar with alt text, this is what we typically do. If not, alt text is a suitably detailed description of an image, diagram, or other visual way of representing information or data.

When we say suitably detailed, this changes depending on the function of the image or diagram – for example, if the image is included as decorative only, it may be omitted, but if a decorative element is included to convey context it may be briefly described. If an image adds value or context to a document, it will be described in more detail. If a graph has a large amount of data points, and is included to illustrate trends, a description of the trend and the context of it – such as performance of a pension fund over an extended period – will be described.

What options do you have for voices, do you record or automate them?

We offer high-quality text-to-speech (TTS) audio as well as professionally recorded human voice content, depending on your needs and preferences. If there is a specific preference for a human voice, we will try to meet your requirements.
Our text to speech service is modern and produces a natural result listeners can engage with.

Can you produce audio in Welsh?

Yes, we are proud to offer audio production in both English and Welsh, supporting bilingual communication and accessibility.

How is the audio delivered?

Transcriptions are provided as MP3, WAV, or other common audio formats and can be sent electronically or physically. Physical copies can be provided on USB devices, CDs, and cassettes.
